Welcome to Gyllene Hjulet (the Golden Wheel) in Surahammar,

Sweden´s largest motorcyclemuseum.

The museum is run as a non-profit making assosiation by the Motorcycle History Club of Mälardalaen. (MCHK-Mälardalen)

We aim to show the development of two wheeled transportation from the pennyfarthing through    ordinary push-bikes up to the glass-fibre framed ITERA (which was a flop!). There are also a great number of mopeds from the early 1950s onwards.

We also show a number of so-called light motorcykles from the early 98 cc via the 1950s limit of 75 kg´s to the present 125 cc

Ofcourse thre are many motorcycles from the beguinning of the century to the 1970s. We also have military motorcykles, even some prototypes.

A number of motocross-, speedway- and roadracing (TT) motorcycles also are there for your admiration. Totaly there are about 130 objekts in the Museum.

Each machine is owned by a clubmember and nearly all are in roadworthy condition. Sometimes particular machines may be missing because the owners have taken them to a rally or other event.

The "gaps" are filled by other bikes; so the Museum is "alive" and you will always find something new to look at.

Very welcome to an interesting visit in the two wheeled history!
